The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Feb. 1, reported receipts of 66,441 head compared to 58,312 head a week ago and 46,684 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 24,903 head, 1,400 to 1,725 lbs., 234.00 to 241.00 (239.44); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,180 head, 1,400 to 1,725 lbs., 238.00 to 240.50 (239.64); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,231 head, 1,275 to 1,550 lbs., 236.00 to 240.00 (238.96). Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 2,392 head, 1,450 to 1,650 lbs., 236.00 to 242.50 (239.67). Dress delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 7,126 head, 866 to 1,101 lbs., 368.00 to 378.50 (376.16).
