The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Feb. 8, reported receipts of 48,570 head compared to 66,441 head a week ago and 59,845 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 20,344 head, 1,400 to 1,750 lbs., 237.00 to 245.00 (240.97); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,113 head, 1,325 to 1,660 lbs., 238.00 to 245.00 (243.21); 35 to 65% Choice, 985 head, 1,400 to 1,550 lbs., 240.00 to 245.00 (242.47).
