High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Feb. 15, reported receipts of 46,504 head compared to 48,570 head a week ago and 43,587 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 18,606 head, 1,350 to 1,750 lbs., 240.00 to 249.00 (245.18); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,472 head, 1,300 to 1,660 lbs., 245.00 to 249.00 (247.24); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,609 head, 1,300 to 1,625 lbs., 245.00 to 249.00 (248.23). Live delivered basis, NA. Dress delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 6,190 head, 853 to 1,091 lbs., 376.00 to 382.00 (381.09). 65 to 80% Choice, 304 head, 924 to 1,005 lbs., 382.00. Dressed FOB, over 80% Choice, 57 head, 953 lbs., 379.00.
