High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Feb. 22, reported receipts of 57,934 head compared to 46,504 head a week ago and 37,691 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 21,180 head, 1,300 to 1,710 lbs., 240.00 to 249.00 (246.62); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,643 head, 1,275 to 1,650 lbs., 249.00; 35 to 65% Choice, 1,455 head, 1,350 to 1,625 lbs., 244.00 to 249.00 (248.85). Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 2,201 head, 1,425 to 1,675 lbs., 245.00 to 249.50 (247.29). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 11,613 head, 839 to 1,105 lbs., 380.00 to 394.00 (387.95); 65 to 80% Choice, 847 head, 977 to 1,080 lbs., 388.00; 35 to 65% Choice, 80 head, 982 lbs. 388.00.
