Oklahoma Youth Expo Grand Drive highlights

Oklahoma 4-H and FFA members at Oklahoma Youth Expo exhibited their livestock for the first time in the newly built OG&E Coliseum at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.

During the nearly two-week show, 1,742 market barrows, 1,060 market lambs, 500 market goats, and 440 market steers were shown. The top animals in each species returned for the grand drive on March 19 with youth and their families in attendance for the selection of champions.

Market barrows

The grand champion market barrow went to Cambry Dosh, with a dark cross breed champion from Colbert 4-H. Reserve champion barrow went to Cooper Buck, showing a dark cross reserve champion pig from Kiefer FFA. Makenna Oliver, Velma-Alma FFA, showed the bronze champion barrow, a Yorkshire.

Market lambs

Grand champion market lamb was exhibited by Sayde Allen from Canute FFA. Reserve champion market lamb went to Haylee Nail, Woodward FFA, with a crossbred. The bronze champion went to McKenna Hurley, Alex FFA.

Market goats

Jase Sparks, Hartshorne FFA, exhibited the grand champion market goat, which was from division 5. Reserve goat was from Division 2 and went to Taylor Glover, Elgin FFA. The bronze champion was from Division 4 and was shown by Addley Hanson, Waynoka FFA.

Market steers

The grand champion market steer show rounded out the grand drive. The grand champion market was the Simmental breed champion, exhibited by Maddox Shout, Piedmont 4-H. Reserve market steer went to Delanie Troyer, Mayes County 4-H, with a crossbred. The bronze market steer was a Chianina and was shown by Finlay Yocham, Sulpula FFA.
