He was ridiculed, laughed at, mocked, spit on cursed, made fun of, whipped, beaten until you couldn’t recognize him and carried a cross for himself to be nailed to and then forgave them. If he could forgive them for that then we should be able to forgive others.
And this is just a bad story without the resurrection. With so much chaos in the world and some places people are being killed because they believe in Jesus, we need to be thankful that we live in America and at this stage have all the freedoms that we have.
I am also thankful for having a great cattle market these past two years. Our market went lower for two weeks after the bombing of Iran but these last two weeks have basically went up everyday recovering a lot of what we lost. It’s hard to buy anything at the auction where you feel like they were worth the money.
A big problem right now in our area is that we are extremely dry. Some of my wheat looks like I just planted it, and you would look at it and say that I didn’t get a very good stand. The grass is actually trying to green up and it makes you wonder how it could look that good with no moisture for quite some time. My dad used to always say that it will rain right before it is too late. So it must be close to raining.
Bred cows and pairs are in strong demand. I have had quite a few calls asking me about the price and where they could find some good young cows. But even at the auction if a 3- or 4- year-old open cow comes into the ring and acts wild she still goes home to be bred whereas a lot of years that wild one would go to slaughter. Let the good times roll and I hope it keeps rolling.
OK so I have to be honest I was in the bar the other night and two women with accents came in and sat across from me. I said, “Cool accents are you two ladies from Scotland?” One of them yells, “Wales you idiot.” So I said, “OK are you two whales from Scotland?” I don’t remember much after that.
I just learned the woman who invented throat lozenges recently died at 92. But they said there was no coffin at the funeral.
