More than $22K awarded in KJLS scholarships

Twelve exhibitors were awarded a total of $22,500 in scholarships ahead of the 2026 Kansas Junior Livestock Show Supreme Female Drive Oct. 3 in Hutchinson. With this year’s scholarships, the program has distributed $620,050 to 423 juniors since its inception in 1993. 

 Cami Miller of El Dorado and Cassidy Dalquest of Wilsey each received a $2,750 scholarship. Four $2,000 scholarships were awarded to Kinsley Gillig of Blue Rapids, Ella Hoeltzel from Olsburg, Ella Neher of Pfeifer and Kamryn Kirkham from Hugoton. Jewel Endicott of Uniontown, Leah Howard from Ellsworth and Aden Grathwohl of Hiawatha each were awarded $1,800 scholarships. Hannah Feiser from Plains and Katie Aubert of Rossville both received $1,300 scholarships, and Genayla Warnken from Manhattan was the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship. Sponsors of this year’s awards were Cargill, the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas Bill House Leadership Award, Coonrod Family Foundation, Farm Credit Associations of Kansas, Friends of Lois Johnson, Lattner Family Foundation, Prill Garwood Financial Advisors and Terry Fritz Memorial Scholarship.

Additional sponsors include the American-International Charolais Association, Cavender’s, Certified Angus Beef, Elite Show Supply, Farm Credit Associations of Kansas, Huvepharma, Kansas Department of Agriculture, Kansas Farm Bureau and Farm Bureau Financial Services, Kansas Livestock Association, Kansas State University, Trans Ova and Weaver Livestock. All high school seniors planning to attend a post-secondary school or those already enrolled in one are eligible to receive a scholarship from KJLS.
