High Plains cattle sales report 

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Jan. 25, reported receipts of 58,312 head compared to 55,652 head a week ago and 67,134 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 21,652 head, 1,300 to 1,750 lbs., 232.00 to 236.50 (234.65); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,851 head, 1,350 to 1,700 lbs., 231.00 to 236.50 (234.89); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,374 head, 1,200 to 1,550 lbs., 233.00 to 236.00 (235.10). Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 346 head, 1,475 to 1,575 lbs., 236.00 to 238.00 (236.40). Dress delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 8,411 head, 813 to 1,120 lbs., 363.00 to 370.00 (368.76). 65 to 80% Choice, 287 head, 960 to 1,037 lbs., 370.00. Dressed FOB, over 80% Choice, 318 head, 836 to 1,016 lbs., 364.00 to 369.00 (367.16).
