Ft. Smith livestock auction report

The Ft. Smith Stockyards, Ft. Smith, Arkansas, reported receipts of 1,941 head selling on June 18, compared to 2,029 head last year, according to the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service-USDA Market News, Little Rock, Arkansas.

No trends were established due to absence of reporter for three weeks. Value added denotes cattle weaned at least 45 days, castrated, and administered two sets of pre-conditioning vaccines. Fleshy denotes unweaned new crop calves. The supply included 1237 feeder calves, 474 feeder yearlings, 104 replacement cows, 114 slaughter cows and 12 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply included 42% steers, 48% heifers and 10% bulls. Nearly 28% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
