Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending Feb. 23, showed estimated receipts of seling 4,885 head, compared to 11,315 head selling a week ago and 8,970 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, there were not enough weekly receipts to comprise an accurate market trend. Limited receipts due to rain and muddy conditions throughout the state. The supply included 3,080 stocker and feeder calves, 905 feeder yearlings, 330 replacement cows, and 465 slaughter cows and 105 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 50% yearling heifers.
