Ada livestock auction report
The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,423 head selling on April 4, compared to 1,256 head a week ago and 1,396 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves were selling unevenly steady on limited comparable weight ranges. There was a limited test on feeder steers and heifers but a much lower undertone was noted. Demand was moderate. Quality was plain to average overall with many long weaned calves on offer. Receipts were limited once again this week due to colder temps in the trade area. Heifers made up 37% of supply and cattle over 600 pounds 19%.
