San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Co., Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported receipts of 951 head selling on April 12, compared to 879 head a week ago and 775 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves and yearlings were trading weak to $1 lower. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were selling steady. Stock cows and pairs were selling steady. Trading and demand was moderate. Quality was mostly average to plain. The supply included 10% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 85% feeders, 4% stock cows and pairs. The feeders 50% were steers and bulls, 30% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 200 to 250 lbs., 200.00 to 208.00; 300 to 350 lbs., 197.00 to 206.00; 500 to 600 167.00 to 178.00; 784 lbs., 140.00. Pairs: All were sold by the pair. All have 150- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1225.00. Medium and large frame 2, 860.00 to 1125.00.
