If Eternity were a sea shore
framing all of this vast land,
then the present life we’re living
is just a grain of sand.
Earthly wealth that we acquire,
regardless of amount,
doesn’t put a penny
in our Heavenly bank account.
Our money, land and cattle
won’t reach the Other Side.
We’ll leave those things behind us
when we make that final ride.
We work and scheme and calculate
throughout our daily grind,
stacking up possessions
to just be left behind.
The Lord knows our mortal needs,
our hunger and our thirst.
He promised to supply these things
if we’d seek His Kingdom first.
If we would choose a future
of peace and joy and rest,
then we need to make some changes
in the way that we invest.
