OKC West Livestock sale report

The OKC West Livestock, El Reno, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 3,157 head on Jan. 3, compared to 10,970 head two weeks ago and 11,154 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

This was the first sale of the new year, therefore no trend will be available. All classes of feeder cattle were sold with very good demand with a limited number of calves sold with moderate to good demand. The quality was plain through attractive. The feeder cattle supply included 68% steers and 32% was heifers. The feeder cattle supply weighing over 600 pounds was 79%.
