Americans for Farmers & Families has released a statement from spokesperson Joshua Baca regarding President Donald Trump’s appointment of Larry Kudlow as director of the White House National Economic Council:
“Today’s announcement from President Donald Trump to appoint his former campaign economist, Larry Kudlow, as the new director of the National Economic Council is a win for farmers and rural America. We commend the president on his decision and look forward to continuing to work with the Trump administration.
“Americans for Farmers and Families would be interested in hearing from Mr. Kudlow about his ideas to preserve the North American Free Trade Agreement and modernize it for the 21st century. NAFTA has boosted the U.S. economy by $127 billion annually, and trade between the U.S., Mexico and Canada has nearly quadrupled reaching $1.3 trillion in 2014 alone.
Forty-three million U.S. jobs are supported by the food and agricultural industries, which depend on NAFTA and we believe it is critical the Trump administration continue its work to improve the agreement.”
