Apache Livestock Auction report

The Apache Livestock Auction, Apache, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,963 head on Jan. 11, compared to 1,062 head last week and 2,932 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a weel ago, the feeder steers were selling $2 to $7 lower. The feeder heifers were selling $4 to $7 lower. The steer and heifer calves were selling $2 to $6 lower. The quality was good to attractive with fair demand. The supply included 50% weighing over 600 pounds and 47% was heifers. The slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $1 lower. The packer demand was moderate. A total of 193 cows and bulls was sold with 62% going to packers.
