Tulsa cattle auction report

The Tulsa feeder cattle weighted average report, Jan. 15, indicated receipts of 1,566 head compared to 2,844 head last week and 895 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, the feeder steers were selling $4 lower in a light test. The heifers were selling $5 lower. The quality was plain through attractive. The demand was good. The receipts included 25% weighing over 600 pounds and 33% were heifers. The slaughter cows and bulls were selling $2 lower also in a light test. A total of 167 cows and bulls was sold with 53% going to packers.
