Arkansas livestock auction summary

The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending Jan. 19, showed estimated receipts of selling 1,530 head, compared to 13,295 head a week go and 9,200 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.

Compared to a week ago, there was no trend established due to limited receipts. The supply included 955 stocker and feeder calves, 185 feeder yearlings, 160 replacement cows, 195 slaughter cows and 35 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 40% yearling heifers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 19 head, 300 to 345 lbs., 180.00 to 210.00 (195.31); 350 to 390 lbs., 170.00 to 210.00 (190.80); 400 to 445 lbs., 165.00 to 198.00 (183.86); 450 to 494 lbs., 159.00 to 190.00 (175.88); 500 to 545 lbs., 150.00 to 188.00 (169.97); 550 to 595 lbs., 145.00 to 172.00 (162.01); 11 head, 600 to 645 lbs., 140.00 to 163.00 (150.64); 11 head, 650 to 695 lbs., 136.00 to 151.00 (146.93).
