OKC West cattle market report
The OKC West Livestock, El Reno, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 3,500 head on Jan. 23, compared to 7,189 head last week, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, the steer calves were selling $4 to $5 higher. The heifer calves were trading $5 to $7 higher. The demand remains good to very good for weaned calves. The quality was average to attractive. The feeder cattle supply included 54% steers, 43% was heifers and 3% was bulls with 43% of the feeder cattle supply weighing over 600 pounds.
