The Tulsa Livestock Auction report, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,846 head selling on Jan. 29, compared to 2,796 head a week ago and 3,882 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steers and heifers were selling mostly steady to $2 higher. Quality was good. Demand was good. Receipts include 37% over 600 pounds and 40% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $3 to $5 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $1 lower. A total of 424 cows and bulls sold with 54% going to packers.
