The Ogallala Livestock Auction Market, Kearney, Nebraska, reported receipts of 6,900 head selling on Feb. 1, compared to 4,675 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.

There is no comparison to a week ago, due to the weather cancelling the sale. Demand was good on all weights, with buyers in the crowd and the internet. Steers accounted for 61% and heifers 39% of the offering, with 70% over 600 pounds.
