Tulsa Livestock Auction report

The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,566 head selling on Feb. 5, compared to 2,846 head a week ago and 1,956 head last year, according to the UDSA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, all classes lightly tested. Steers were selling $5 to $7 lower. Heifers were selling $3 to $5 higher. Demand was good. Quality was mostly plain, few attractive. Receipts included 23% over 600 pounds and 51% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls were also lightly tested. Slaughter cows were selling mostly steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 higher. A total of 206 cows and bulls sold with 45% going to packers.

Replacement cows: All were pre-tested for pregnancy and age.
