Gov. Colyer to address KLA members at legislative dinner
Kansas Gov. Jeff Colyer will address members attending the Kansas Livestock Association Legislative Dinner, Feb. 13 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka. The surgeon and fifth-generation Kansan will make remarks prior to the Fat Tuesday-themed dinner for KLA members and their legislators. All 165 members of the Kansas Legislature have been invited to dinner.
Earlier in the day, KLA members will provide input and direction for the lobbying staff on bills under consideration in the state Legislature. The bill review from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. will follow a complimentary lunch at 11:30 a.m., sponsored by Capital City Bank. Bills dealing with irrigation regulation, changing the way noxious weeds are declared, livestock traceability and the Veterinary Training Program for Rural Kansas are among those to be discussed.
