Cash bids for corn, wheat, sorghum trade mostly lower
Compared to Feb. 16, cash bids for corn, wheat and sorghum traded mostly lower, soybeans traded higher, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Feb. 20.
USDA said export inspections for last week totaled 36.9 million bushels of corn, 35.3 million bushels of soybeans, and 15.5 million bushels of wheat. Export inspections could be viewed as neutral to bearish for all three commodities.
Wheat was mostly 2 to 6 cents lower. Corn was mostly 2 cents lower. Sorghum was 3 1/2 cents lower. Soybeans were mostly 5 cents higher.
In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $4.71 3/4, down 6 3/4 cents.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.66 3/4, down 6 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $6.17 1/2, down 2 3/4 cents; Portland, $5.30 to $5.62, unchanged to up 10 cents; St. Louis, $4.49 to $4.66, down 8 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.50 1/2, down 2 cents; Minneapolis, unavailable; southern Iowa, $3.50 1/2 to $3.50 1/2, down 2 cents; Omaha, $3.43 to $3.49, down 2 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $9.96 1/2, up 5 cents; Minneapolis, no comparisons; southern Iowa, $9.81 1/2 to $9.89 1/2, up 5 cents; central Illinois processors, $10.04 1/2 to $10.23 1/2, up 3 to 5 cents.
Kansas City wheat prices Feb. 20, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.46 3/4 to $5.61 3/4, down 6 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $6.16 3/4 to $6.31 3/4, down 6 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $6.76 3/4 to $6.91 3/4, down 6 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $6.76 3/4 to $6.91 3/4, down 6 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
