High Plains slaughter cattle sales report
High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Feb. 25, totaled 92,517 head selling, compared to 127,834 head selling a week ago and 125,368 head selling last year, according to the USDA Livestock, Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% choice, 18,321 head, 1,200 to 1,600 lbs., 125.00 to 131.50 (128.25); 65 to 80% choice, 12,069 head, 1,215 to 1,525 lbs., 126.00 to 128.50 (127.80); 35 to 65% choice, 4,279 head, 1,100 to 1,400 lbs., 125.00 to 128.00 (127.05).
