OKC West Livestock auction report
The OKC West Livestock, El Reno, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,500 head March 6, compared to 6,570 head a week ago and 15,045 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steer calves were selling firm to $5 higher, there was the most advance on calves under 500 pounds. Heifer calves were selling mostly steady to $4 higher. Demand was good to very good. Quality was average to attractive. Feeder cattle supply included 47% steers, 50% heifers and 3% bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 28%.
