Oklahoma farmer named president of the National Association of Wheat Growers

The National Association of Wheat Growers and the National Wheat Foundation wrapped up the 2018 Commodity Classic recently in Anaheim, California, with a new slate of officers.

NAWG President and Montana farmer Gordon Stoner has passed the gavel down to Vice President Jimmie Musick, a farmer from Sentinel, Oklahoma.

“We are excited to announce the officer team for the 2018-2019 NAWG fiscal year,” stated NAWG CEO and NWF Executive Director Chandler Goule. “With our new board in place we are ready to represent America’s wheat farmers during the 2018 Farm Bill negotiations.”

Musick is proud to be a part of a five-generation family farm in Sentinel. He owns and operates Musick Farms and Cattle Company with his wife Judy, son Tracy and wife Ronda and grandchildren Colt and Larame.

The family’s diversified farm includes alfalfa, wheat, milo and cotton, as well as a feeder cattle operation. The family farming business has expanded over the years to also include trucking, cattle buying, alfalfa and seed sales.

He has been involved in leadership of many organizations, including having served as president of the Oklahoma Wheat Growers Association.
