High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending April 20, reported receipts of 55,857 head compared to 38,541 head a week ago and 56,659 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 15,129 head, 1,370 to 1,700 lbs., 208.00 to 215.00 (212.17); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,212 head, 1,240 to 1,550 lbs., 208.00 to 212.00 (209.81); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,070 head, 1,250 to 1,500 lbs., 208.00 to 210.00 (209.44). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,852 head, 1,475 to 1,650 lbs., 211.00 to 216.00 (214.25).
