The Maxilator Bale Splitter easily slices through round bales and retains plastic wrap, net wrap and twine. A single operator can pick up, move and split round bales up to 6-by-6 feet without leaving his seat. Even the wrapping is remotely released for maximum efficiency. The Maxilator Bale Splitter is made by Maxilator Equipment, Rockmart, Georgia, and is distributed by Price Brothers Equipment Company, Wichita, Kansas. The wrap retention mechanism reliably captures wrap off of common round bales. A series of hooks penetrates and holds a thin outer layer of the bale. This uses the bale material to spread the load, eliminating any manual alignment or wrap tears. The mechanism is simple, reliable and uses just one small hydraulic ram. Hooks can be replaced individually and the entire cartridge design is removable for easy service and cleaning. The bale splitter has a skid-steer mount and is attachable to most tractors. It splits dry hay, haylage, corn stalks and silage round bales. As it has no tines, the Maxilator allows for operation in smaller places. The bale splitter is easy to handle, maintain and repair.
