Tulia Livestock Auction report

The Tulia Livestock Auction, Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,148 head selling on March 29, compared to 2,221 head a week ago and 2,288 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling $1 to $4 lower. Trade was fairly active on moderate to good demand. The area received some much needed moisture earlier in the week but still need more rain. Slaughter cows and bulls made up less than 1%, less than 1% replacements and 99% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 49% steers and bulls, 51% heifers. Approximately 88% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
