Pratt Community College to host Women in Agriculture Workshop

On April 28, Pratt Community College will be hosting a free event for all women interested in the agriculture industry. The event is open to high school-aged females interested in exploring topics and careers in Agriculture, as well as females of all ages with an interest in or actively involved in the Agriculture industry.

The workshop will run from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. A variety of breakout sessions led by industry experts that participants may attend include:

  • Careers in Agriculture, STEAM;
  • Farm Economics & Finances;
  • Environmental Partnerships with Producers;
  • Travel Kansas;
  • Overview of Ag Mediation Services & Ag Succession Planning;
  • Social Media: The New Ag Coffee Shop;
  • Visioning for the Future of the Farm and Ranch; and
  • Empowering Young Women in Agriculture.

In addition to the breakout sessions, a diverse selection of learning stations will be set up for participants to explore during the Lunch & Learn session. Representatives from PCC, YSA & Team Beef, KS Nature Conservancy and more will have tables set up for participants to learn more about their respective area.

Lunch is provided during the free event and provides an opportunity for participants to network with those involved in the industry. Giveaways, prizes, and freebies will be available to those who participate in the workshop. All those who attend will also receive a free PCC T-Shirt. Pre-registration is required for this event.
