Springfield cattle market report
The Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Missouri, reported receipts of 2,053 head on April 18, compared to 2,194 head last week and 1,990 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Compared to a week ago, the steers weighing under 700 pounds were steady, the heifers under 500 pounds were selling $3 to $6 higher, those 500 to 700 pounds were steady, yearling steers and heifers over 700 pounds werenot well tested last week for a good comparison with a higher undertone was noted. The Holsteins were not well tested. The demand was moderate to good and the supply was moderate. The feeder cattle supply included 40% steers, 1% was dairy steers, 48% was heifers and 11% was bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 34%.
