Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending April 23, showed estimated receipts of 10,245 head selling, compared to 8,270 head a week ago and 9,560 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling mostly $1 to $6 higher. Feeder heifers were selling $1 to $5 higher. Slaughter cows were selling $2 to $4 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling $3 lower. The supply included 6,720 stocker and feeder calves, 1,345 feeder yearlings, 960 replacement cows, 1,065 slaughter cows and 155 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 44% yearling heifers.
