Stored forage workshop set for May 8 at Livestock and Forestry Research Station
A stored forage workshop May 8 will highlight the latest University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture research for hay production, storage and nutrition.
Weather permitting, the workshop will be held outdoors at the division’s Livestock and Forestry Research Station near Batesville. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.and the program will run from 9 a.m. to around 2:30 p.m.

Topics will cover nutrition and performance with mechanically stored forage, hay equipment discussion and demonstration, and the cost to produce stored forage.
The Livestock and Forestry Research Station is a 3,000-acre research unit developed to conduct research with forestry and beef cattle management and production. Large-scale replicated forage research is conducted on 1,250 acres of pasture and hay fields.
The station is located off Hwy. 106 at 70 Experiment Station Drive.
