Apache Livestock Auction report
Apache Livestock Auction, Apache, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,300 head selling on May 3, compared to 1,586 head a week ago and 2,771 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling unevenly steady on a limited test. Steer and heifer calves were selling $1 to $4 higher. Quality was good to attractive with very good demand on thin grazing cattle. The supply included 80% over 600 pounds and 47% steers. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to $1 higher. Packer demand was moderate. A total of 112 cows and bulls sold with 52% going to packers.
