Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending May 4, showed estimated receipts of 11,895 head, compared to 10,050 head a week ago and 8,210 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling mostly steady to $4 lower. Feeder heifers were selling mostly steady to $5 lower. Slaughter cows were selling steady to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling steady. The supply included 8,405 stocker and feeder calves, 1,710 feeder yearlings, 650 replacement cows, 960 slaughter cows and 170 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 47% yearling heifers.
