OKC West livestock auction report
The OKC West, El Reno, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,800 head selling on May 8, compared to 13,926 head a week ago and 19,508 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves were trading mostly steady on a limited offering of weaned calves. Several drafts of new crop calves on offer. Demand was moderate for long weaned calves, light for calves fresh off the cow. Quality was average to attractive. The feeder cattle supply included 39% steers, 59% heifers and 2% bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 24%.
