Pratt Livestock Auction report

The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, reported receipts of 4,794 head selling on May 10, compared to 4,329 head a week ago and 7,076 head last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling steady to $4 lower. Feeder heifers were selling mostly $3 to $4 lower. Steer and heifer calves were not tested due to limited comparable receipts. Demand was moderate to good. Quality was average to attractive. Slaughter cows were selling steady to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 to $4 lower. The feeder supply was 42% steers, 58% heifers with 95% 600 pounds and over.
