Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending May 18, showed estimated receipts of 8,895 head selling, compared to 11,400 head a week ago and 11,060 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $4 to $12 lower. Feeder heifers were selling $3 to $8 lower. Slaughter cows were selling steady to $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling steady. The supply included 5,650 stocker and feeder calves, 1,675 feeder yearlings, 505 replacement cows, 930 slaughter cows and 135 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 36% yearling heifers.
