Tulsa livestock auction report
The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,339 head selling on May 21, compared to 2,317 head a week ago and 1,723 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $4 to $6 lower. Heifers were selling $5 lower. Quality was mostly plain. Demand was good. Receipts included 16% over 600 pounds and 45% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling mostly steady to $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling $3 to $5 higher. A total of 317 cows and bulls sold with 76% going to packers. The Tulsa Stockyards will be closed May 28 to observe Memorial Day.
