Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending June 1, showed estimated receipts of 5,840 head selling, compared to 6,510 head a week ago and 9,145 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared toa week ago, feeder steers under 500 pounds were selling steady to $4 lower, over 500 pounds were selling mostly $4 to $5 higher. Feeder heifers were selling steady to $4 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling mostly steady. The supply included 4,240 stocker and feeder calves, 810 feeder yearlings, 260 replacement cows, 440 slaughter cows and 90 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 42% yearling heifers.
