Cash bids for wheat higher

Compared to June 5, cash bids for wheat were higher, corn and soybeans were lower, according to the National Grain Market Summary, June 6.

Corn and soybean markets traded lower June 6, influenced by good crop conditions in the U.S. as well as precipitation in the forecast for much of the Midwest. The U.S. Department of Energy said ethanol production for week ending June 1 totaled 1.041 million barrels per day, unchanged compared to the week prior.

Wheat was 5 to 18 cents higher. Corn was mostly 2 to 6 cents lower. Soybeans were 7 to 9 cents lower.

In the futures close, Kansas City July wheat was $5.19 3/4, up 14 1/2 cents.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $5.34 3/4, up 18 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $6.33 1/4, up 5 cents; Portland, $5.90 to $6, up 10 to 5 cents; St. Louis, $5.25 to $5.36, up 10 to 14 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.63 1/4 to $3.07 1/4, down 2 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $3.26 1/4, down 6 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $3.40 1/4 to $3.46 1/4, down 6 1/2 to 5 1/2 cents; Omaha, $3.59 to $3.60, down 1 to 2 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $9.89 1/4, down 7 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $9.33 1/4, down 9 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $9.46 1/4 to $9.54 1/4, down 8 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $9.74 1/4 to $9.86 1/4, down 7 1/2 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices June 6, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $6.44 3/4 to $6.59 3/4, up 10 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $6.82 3/4 to $6.97 3/4, up 10 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $6.99 3/4 to $7.14 3/4, up 10 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $7.09 3/4 to $7.24 3/4, up 10 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $3.78 to $3.86 1/2, down 2 to up 1 1/4.
