Ozarks Regional cattle sales report
The Ozarks Regional Stockyards, West Plains, Missouri, reported receipts of 4,725 head selling on June 19, compared to 4,531 head a week ago and 4,081 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves were trading uneven from $3 lower to $3 higher while yearling steers and heifers were trading $5 to $8 higher. Demand improved throughout the day and was good on calves and very good on yearlings. The supply was heavy with several multi-pot load offerings of yearlings, including a 253 head string of 750-pound heifers. The feeder cattle supply included 46% steers, 50% heifers and 3% bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 57%.
