Pratt Livestock Auction report
The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, reported receipts of 1,404 head selling on June 28, compared to 1,399 head a week ago and 1,718 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 850 to 1000 pounds were selling steady to weak on a light supply of medium and large frame 1. There were not enough medium and large frame 1 feeder heifers for a market test. Not enough steer and heifer calves for a market test. Trade was slow and demand light. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to $3 higher. The feeder supply was 75% steers, 25% heifers with 89% 600 pounds and over. Pratt Livestock will be closed for the July 4th holiday.
