Woodward Livestock Auction report

The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 4,173 head selling on June 28, compared to 4,212 head a week ago and 2,387 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were trading $1 to $3 higher, with the exception of steers over 800 pounds that were selling $2 to $3 lower. Steer and heifer calves were not well tested due to limited comparable receipts, but a higher undertone was noted. Demand was moderate to good, especially for lighter weight yearlings. Quality was average to attractive. The supply included 83% over 600 pounds and 42% heifers.
