Ada livestock auction report
The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Oklahoma, reported estimated receipts of 1,875 head selling July 11, compared to 1,918 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to June 27, steer and heifer calves under 500 pounds were selling $1 to $3 higher, heavier weights were selling $4 to $6 higher. Yearling cattle were not fully tested but comparable sales were sharply higher. Demand was good for all classes. Overall quality average to good. A good number of new crop and short weaned calves offered. Heifers made up 46% and cattle over 600 pounds 27% of supply.
