Pratt Livestock Auction report
The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, reported receipts of 2,462 head selling on July 12, compared to 1,404 head on June 28 and 1,882 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to the June 28 sale, feeder steers over 800 pounds were selling mostly steady with instances up to $3 higher. Heifers weighing 800 to 900 pounds were selling $2 to $5 higher. There was no trend on all other classes and weights due to limited comparable sales. Slaughter cows were selling mostly $3 to $5, with instances up to $7 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling mostly steady. Trade was moderate for moderate demand. The feeder supply was 47% steers, 52% heifers with 94% over 600 pounds.

Boner, 80 to 85% lean, 56.00 to 59.50; high dressing, 60.00 to 65.00; low dressing, 52.50 to 55.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 52.50 to 57.50; high dressing, 58.00 to 59.00; low dressing, 42.00 to 51.00.
Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 83.50 to 86.00; high dressing 89.00 to 91.00; low dressing, 63.00 to 72.00.
