Topsoil moisture supplies rated 10 percent very short, 29 short, 58 adequate, and 3 surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 11 percent very short, 31 short, 56 adequate, and 2 surplus.
Corn condition rated 8 percent very poor, 15 poor, 29 fair, 41 good, and 7 excellent. Corn silking was 96 percent, ahead of 89 last year, and near 92 for the five-year average. Dough was 65 percent, ahead of 48 both last year and average. Dented was 23 percent, ahead of 9 last year and 7 average.
Soybean condition rated 6 percent very poor, 15 poor, 36 fair, 39 good, and 4 excellent. Soybeans blooming was 89 percent, ahead of 83 last year and 75 average. Setting pods was 63 percent, ahead of 48 last year, and well ahead of 38 average.
Sorghum condition rated 2 percent very poor, 6 poor, 30 fair, 53 good, and 9 excellent. Sorghum headed was 58 percent, ahead of 41 last year and 42 average. Coloring was 6 percent, near 2 last year and 3 average.
