Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending Sept. 17, showed estimated receipts of 4,885 head selling, compared to 2,410 head a week ago and 9,295 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers over 600 pounds were selling $1 to $7 higher, over 600 pounds were selling $2 to $5 lower. Feeder heifers were selling $1 to $5 higher. Slaughter cows were selling steady to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 lower. The supply included 3,290 stocker and feeder calves, 890 feeder yearlings, 175 replacement cows, 460 slaughter cows and 70 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 42% yearling heifers.
