Brush, wildlife, leasing meeting set Sept. 25 in Quitaque
A Brush Control, Hunting and Land Leasing, and Mule Deer Regulations
Meeting will be hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Briscoe County on Sept. 25.
The meeting will be at the Hope Center, located on the west edge of Quitaque next to the Valley Farm Store. It will begin with a noon lunch and conclude at 2:45 p.m.
There will be a $15 fee and those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by Sept. 24 to the AgriLife Extension office in Briscoe County at 806-823-2521.
“In Briscoe County, hunting and land leasing are economically important to the county,” said Mason Carter, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent in Briscoe County. “It is good for landowners and lessors to keep up with laws and regulations with the hunting season coming up and a new mule deer regulation coming in to effect.”
One general Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education unit will be provided.
The program will include:
• Hunting and Land Leasing, Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agricultural law specialist, Amarillo.
• Sendero Brush Control, Jodie Stockett, Dow AgroScience Representative, Claude.
• Mule Deer Conversation and New Hunting Regulation, Todd Montandon, Texas Parks and Wildlife biologist, Canyon.
